Young leaders grow skills at western NSW camp

Two young Goodooga Central School students have returned from the ‘Young Leaders of the West’ camp inspired to make a difference in their school and community, launching a new gardening club after learning about leadership and sustainability.

Tazeke Williams and Millyn Payne attended the annual leadership camp at Warrumbungle National Park alongside students from schools across western NSW.

Run by the Warrumbungle National Park Environmental Education Centre, the camp brings together Stage 3 students showing strong leadership potential, giving them the opportunity to build confidence, teamwork and communication skills.

Goodooga Central School Primary Assistant Principal, Kiarra Brennan said the experience pushed students outside their comfort zones in the best possible way. […]
