Year 12 students tackling the HSC

Bourke High School

For the seven students in Bourke High School’s graduating class of 2024, the journey to obtaining the Higher School Certificate has been a 13-year voyage filled with hard work and resilience.

Bourke High School’s seven Year 12 students are among more than 71,500 students across NSW who are on track to complete their 2024 HSC. A total of 832 students are in the Far West and Orana area.

The road to the HSC has meant meeting a variety of criteria and demonstrating competence in multiple areas.

Upon completing Year 10, these students earned their Record of School Achievement (ROSA). Since then, they’ve worked hard to meet the requirements for the HSC, including passing minimum standards tests in literacy and numeracy and completing work placements for Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, depending on their chosen subjects.

When students entered Stage 6 (Years 11 and 12), they had the freedom to tailor their education to their interests and future aspirations. […]
