Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) recognised the invaluable work of NSW SES volunteers last week.
The dedicated Bourke SES team marked the occasion in their own humble way – by continuing to do what they always do – be ready when their community needs them.
WOW Day, held during National Volunteer Week (19th – 25th May), is an opportunity for Australians to say thank you to the SES members who serve through storms, floods, and emergencies.
According to Bourke SES Unit Commander Karen Keuning, who has lived in Bourke since she was seven and has volunteered in the local SES for more than 30 years, says SES offers plenty of opportunities for anyone who may be interested in joining. […]
