World Heritage listing for Bre Fish Traps?

The Brewarrina Fish Traps, also known locally as Baiame’s Ngunnhu, is already on the NSW State Heritage Register and the National Heritage list, but there is a push to take its status one step higher.
Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager, David Kirby said that the Brewarrina community was extremely fortunate to have such an iconic attraction.
“The fish traps are one of a kind and we are trying to do our best to showcase that to the world,” Mr Kirby said.
“Council has just started, with community members and traditional owners, to look at the World Heritage listing process.
“We are currently working through that and will provide more updates to community as we progress. It is a long-winded process, but it’s time for us to make a start.” […]
