Wheels in motion for Enngonia bus service

Residents in the village of Enngonia are hoping they will have a bus service in the town after a group of Enngonia residents made representation to the Bourke Shire Council.

The issue was raised in a Mayoral Minute at the monthly Council meeting on Monday with Council’s General Manager, Leonie Brown, advising that Council has been assisting in efforts by the Enngonia community regarding access to community and school transport services.

“Council has previously heard from the community regarding a lack of availability of transport for the elderly and for the senior kids to come into school,” Mrs Brown said.

“As a result, Bourke Shire Council made contact with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) to see if there was any opportunity for provision of a bus service, with the Department advising that is very happy to work with Council and the community to explore transport options for Enngonia.” […]
