Babies and their families were welcomed back to Country in Walgett last week, with around 23 babies taking part in a special ceremony celebrating family, culture, community, and strong beginnings.

The Welcome Baby Back to Country ceremony, held on Friday, September 18, brought families together for a culturally significant event organised through Western NSW Local Health District.

Helen Power, care coordinator for the First 2000 Days program, said the event had been warmly embraced by the community.

“It was fantastic. We had a good crowd,” Ms Power said. “We had 23 babies take part in the ceremony with their families, so that was really good.” […]
