Walgett Shire finalists at 2022 Local Government Awards
Walgett Shire Council Youth and Community Development staff along with youth representatives Grace McBride and Markel McBride have been in Sydney for the 2022 Local Government Awards.
The gala event was attended by representatives of councils, mayors, and ministers from across New South Wales and held at the Fullerton Hotel, in the heart of Sydney.
Walgett Shire Council attended the event as a top five finalist against 128 other councils within the state for the fifteenth consecutive year, and as current 2021 title holders as the “Best Small Council Youth Week Program”.
This year, Walgett Shire Council was a finalist in two categories: Most Innovative Youth Week Program and Best Small Council with Most Outstanding Youth Week Program.
