Lightning Ridge will take a trip down memory lane this month when dozens of vintage and classic caravans roll into the Big 4 Opal Holiday Park for the 10th Biennial Vintage Caravan Nationals.

Caravans dating from the 1930s through to the 1970s will converge on the Ridge from September 18 to 24, creating a temporary “Vintage Village” and bringing enthusiasts from across the eastern states together for a week in the outback.

Co-organiser Glenn Watson said the biennial event moves to a different Australian destination each time, with Lightning Ridge chosen for its character and appeal as a visitor destination.
