Victor elected to Bourke Council after countback

Victor Bartley has been elected to a vacancy on Bourke Shire Council following a countback election conducted by the NSW Electoral Commission.

Bourke Shire council General Manager Leonie Brown said that a countback was held to fill a casual vacancy on the Council following the resignation of former councillor, Maxime Nina.

“In accordance with NSW electoral laws, the vacancy was filled by redistributing preferences from the most recent local government election,” Mrs Brown said.

Mr Bartley, who has previously served on Bourke Council, stood as a candidate in the September 2024 Council election and has today been formally declared elected following the completion of the countback process. […]
