The fifth biennial Tour de OROC will be run again in 2021, and the organisers are looking for volunteers.

Created in 2013, the Tour de OROC raises money for the Macquarie Home Stay regional patient and family accommodation facility in Dubbo.

The event has run in 2015, 2017 and 2019 and has contributed almost half a million dollars to Macquarie Home Stay.

Planning has begun for the 2021 event to run over six days from Monday 4 October, over 1,000 kilometres.

The event requires a team of volunteers to organise tour logistics, events and accommodation in the communities that are visited along the way, fundraising and sponsorship, police and insurance approvals, and support personnel.

Tour Chairman Mathew Dickerson said that past committee members are welcome and new committee members are also welcome.

“If you have any interest in the event, do not hesitate to join in,” Mr Dickerson said. “Committee members can be connected to meetings remotely if not located in Dubbo”.

“With many events put on hold over the last year the timing for the Tour de OROC in 2021 will be perfect, so I am looking forward to another exciting event that will contribute significant funds to Macquarie Home Stay.”

Anyone interested in helping can send an e-mail to info@tourdeoroc.bike or call Mathew Dickerson on 0418 628 439.
