Top contenders battle it out in the dust for title points at Bourke rodeo

The cowboys and cowgirls at the Back O'Bourke Peter Simmonds Memolrial Stampede put on a spectacular show of grit and bravery, battling it out for points and honours in the pro rodeo event. The winner of the Back O Bourke Stampede in the steer wrestling was Ben Rasmussen, who scored 89.5 points with the help of McPhee Rodeo Company. Ben took out the title with an impressive 89.5 points.

In other results: Bourke’s Kenrick Cross won the Local Steer event with 82 points, with the only female contestant Vanessa Barry in second on 80 points. Tye Simmonds took out the saddle bronc win.

There were nine main events as well as the Peter Simmonds memorial shootout, live music and fireworks to wrap up a highly successful event which drew a crowd of more than 2000 to Renshaw Oval.
