Tilpa’s quirks put it among Australia’s best bush pubs

There’s no polished beer garden, designer fit-out or fancy cocktail list needed at Tilpa Hotel – and apparently that’s exactly the point.
The historic Darling River watering hole has been named the sixth quirkiest outback pub in Australia by travel publication Escape, earning national recognition for its unmistakable bush character.
Escape writer James Booth placed Tilpa Hotel at number six on the list, describing it as an “ocker true bush pub” and highlighting its timber and corrugated iron construction and walls covered with messages left by travellers.
Current owner Stacy Henman has an even simpler description for the iconic watering hole.
“It’s a tin shed with a liquor licence,” he said. […]
