There is work in Bourke!

Take no notice of the old saying – “There’s no work in Bourke, and things are crook in Tallarook” because the bush is currently full of vacant jobs.

Bourke Shire Council has just released a recruitment video to help local businesses, government departments and non-government organisations to recruit staff to the Bourke community.

In her role as Economic Development Manager of Bourke Shire Council, Mel Milgate said she was often asked by employers if she could take new employees on a tour of town to show them what Bourke has to offer.

This was one of the catalysts for a new seven-minute video which highlights the town and aims to attract new workers.

“If you are considering coming to Bourke, we have so many jobs available,” Ms Milgate said.[…]
