The Northy pub is flourishing and fulfilling a long-held dream of owner Lindsay Curry – to become a community hub, embraced and supported by the people of Bourke.

Now, Lindsay says it’s time to give back to the community. Last Friday, December 5, The Northy charity raffle kicked off. Every Friday, from 6pm, raffle tickets are sold to raise funds for someone in Bourke who needs a helping hand.

“Our mission was always to be a community pub, and we want to give back,” Lindsay said.

“The money raised from our raffles is a hand up, not a hand-out, and goes to someone in need.

“The first charity raffle night raised $904, which is awesome. The idea came from Scott McAdam, from Scott McAdam Plumbing and who is also a Bourke Shire councillor. […]
