The Boy from Bourke has done it again!

Local boxing sensation, 16-year-old Harrison Simmons took on Logan Witham from Armidale at Dubbo on Saturday and came away with a convincing win.
Coach, Chris Hallford, from Fighting Arts has trained Harrison for his entire boxing career and said the future looks bright for the young athlete.
Harrison’s win in the ‘Carnage’ event at Dubbo’s Amaroo Hotel last weekend brought his tally of victories to eight from 11 fights.
Harrison boxes out of Fighting Arts gym in Dubbo and Logan Witham – a highly fancied young boxer trains at Boss Battle Gym at Armidale.
“Harrison has been training with me since he was about 12 years old,” Mr Hallford said. “I think initially his mum and dad were looking for something to keep him occupied, but he was naturally talented from the word go.”
“He’s lost a couple of fights that he probably shouldn’t have, but not through his own fault. He’s really starting to hit his stride now and while we’ve had our moments, he is going extremely well, and I am super proud of him.”
Leading up to a fight, Harrison trains at Fighting Arts at least four days a week for about an hour and a half at each session. He is part of the gym’s Junior Fight Team which is handpicked by Mr Hallford and must commit to rigorous training. (…)
