The rain came, the kids arrived, the NRL legends were in hot demand, and the scene was set for the 30th anniversary of the highly anticipated Ronny Gibbs Rugby League Sevens gala event this week.

Some of the best laid plans had to change with the weather, but it didn’t daunt the enthusiasm of the kids – or Ronny.

“You just have to play what’s in front of you,” Ronny said. “We didn’t get to do as many clinics or games as we planned, but the kids all got to take part, they all got a footy and a shirt, and plenty of goodies to take home.” […]
