Saturday mornings at Morrall’s Bakery are a special treat with extra special specials on the menu from the students undertaking the Bourke High School hospitality course.

Morrall’s Bakery has teamed up with the school to allow students to complete the required 35 hours of work placement so that they can pass their year 12 hospitality course.

This year it has been difficult for students to gain this valuable and essential component to the course as many of the café businesses don’t have the staff and resources to allow the one on one supervision and training that the students require.

Kristi Ibbotson, Bourke High school hospitality teacher, came up with the idea to volunteer her time to instruct and spend time with the students in the kitchen.
