Season gets underway with 68 kids signing up for soccer

The Bourke Junior Soccer season kicked off in style on Saturday as over one hundred parents and kids turned up for registration day at Bourke’s Coolican Field.
The Bourke Junior Soccer season kicked off in style on Saturday as over one hundred parents and kids turned up for registration day at Bourke’s Coolican Field.

At the end of the day, there were 35 registrations for the Minis – aged 1 to 5 years, and 33 registrations for the Juniors – aged 6 to 14 years.

Vice President of the Junior Soccer committee Samantha Simmons said that there was far bigger turnup than the new committee had expected.

“We are now expecting to run a very successful junior soccer season in Bourke, and we look forward to taking further registrations,” Samantha said.

“The committee is looking for more helpers to run the training and the games, so if you can help out, please let us know.”

Samantha thanked everyone for attending and said that training for the Juniors will be on Thursday afternoons from 4 o’clock, and the first games will be held at Coolican Field on Saturday. […]
