Road rename

In a touching tribute, the communities around Lightning Ridge are uniting to honour the bravery and sacrifice of Captain Leo Fransen, a dedicated volunteer firefighter who tragically lost his life in the Hudson Fire.

Fuelled by deep respect and admiration, the effort is centred on a proposal to rename Grawin Road to “Capt. Leo Fransen Way”.

This initiative, gaining widespread support, is not just a renaming of a thoroughfare but a symbol of community gratitude.
