Easter in Lightning Ridge delivered exactly what the Outback does best — full houses, packed events and visitors rolling in from across the country.

Speaking on Outback Radion 2WEB after the weekend, president of the Lightning Ridge Tourism Association, Andrew Kemeny said he was thrilled with how the festival unfolded.

“One hundred per cent happy,” he said. “All our cabins were full, the motels were full, and our largest caravan park was probably at 90 to 95 per cent capacity, which is a great outcome.”

Visitors travelled from across New South Wales and interstate, including Melbourne, Wodonga, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Moree, Narrabri, and Brisbane, with many making the long trip specifically for the Easter event.

“They really did come in huge numbers,” Mr Kemeny said.
