Ready, set, paint

The challenge is on from Brewarrina Shire Council, who are encouraging local artists to put their wit, satire, and brushstrokes to the test, and enter the 2026 Bald Archy Prize.

Brewarrina is no stranger to the irreverent cousin of the Archibald Prize and is a part of the annual regional tour. In July this year, almost 40 portraits lampooning big names such as Gina Rinehart, Nathan Cleary, Hugh Jackman, Peter Dutton and Olympic breakdancer Raygun were on display at the Brewarrina Visitor Information Centre.
