Ready for action at Louth races this weekend!

All roads lead to Louth this weekend – freshly graded and ready to handle the traffic flow as locals and visitors head to one of the most iconic race meets in the country. Already, campers and caravanners are setting up in readiness for the annual event, with the crowd expected to top 5000 on Saturday, all keen to enjoy the seven race event, the live music, the food, fashions and festivities.
Louth Races publicist Liz Murray said the race weekend kicks off this evening with the hotly contested Damper and Scone bake-off at Shindy’s Inn along with live music by Shane Josephson, and Friday with the Louth School Fair from 10am to 2pm.
“This year, the fair is even bigger and better, with plenty of stallholders for visitors to enjoy, followed by an auction after the barbecue lunch.
“Race week is a real community event, and to make sure everyone can get along to the School Fair on Friday Rose Isle won’t be holding their usual morning tea that day. And Dunlop Station offer a 2pm tour of their historic station buildings followed by afternoon tea, so that everyone can head to Louth township and support the fair.
“It’s the tiny school’s major fundraiser, so we’re encouraging everyone to head to the fair and enjoy some of the products and items on sale and help the school,” she said. […]
