Quiet achiever honoured for service to Walgett Show

For years, visitors to the Walgett Show have admired the polished pavilion displays, community spirit, and successful events that help bring the Walgett annual show together. But like so many community events, much of the hard work behind the scenes has come from dedicated volunteers like local resident, Annie Berrell.

Annie’s longstanding contribution to the Walgett Show Society was formally recognised when she was awarded the prestigious B.T. Howard Memorial Trophy (Achievers Award) for 2026 during the 86th Annual Walgett Show.

Annie was nominated for her ongoing support and tireless work within the pavilions, along with her dedication to coordinating the Young Woman competition and helping bring the event into the Walgett Show weekend program. […]
