Prue is Barwon Woman of the Year

Bourke woman Prue Ritchie, well-known General Manager of the Bourke and District Children’s Services, was named as the Barwon Woman of the Year in a ceremony in Sydney last week.
Prue said that she was honoured to receive recognition at the 2026 NSW Women’s Awards and said it was inspiring to see the amazing work being done by the women of NSW.
“It is a really big honour, but the work that I have done has been through the work of a lot of other women – we’ve had an amazing committee at Bourke and District Children’s Services – mostly women, and I work with some fabulous women – so I guess its an award for the whole team at BDCS.
“We are so lucky to have such a great group of people, some of whom I have worked with for over 20 years, through BDCS, the Show Committee and the ICPA.
Prue said that, at the awards ceremony, she was lucky enough to get photos with the Minister for Women Jodie Harrison, the Minister for Western NSW Tara Moriarty; the Secretary of NSW Health, Susan Pearce, her ever-supportive mum, Charlotte Roberts and Leigh Sales,” […]
