Property values rising outback

Bourke, like many other regional towns, is enjoying an unexpected bounce in land and property values.

Some regional towns are seeing property price rises above ten per cent, with some real estate agents citing values up by 40 per cent in some areas.

While Bourke has not experienced increases at that level, there is a definite trend in rising house and land values in the shire, according to Schute Bell Whitbread licensee Sharon Dixon.

“In the western region, prices aren’t going through the roof but there is a definite strengthening of the market,” Sharon said.

“Properties that may have been up for sale for some time are starting to sell, or attract more interest.
