Premier visits Brewarrina to see youth development success first hand

Brewarrina Shire Council welcomed the NSW Premier Chris Minns to the Shire last Thursday July 16 for a firsthand look at council’s effective and future-focused youth development models.
The visit delivered on the Premier’s commitment last December to see the outcomes of recent State investment and the measurable improvements in youth engagement, employment readiness, cultural connection and community safety across the Shire and the region.
Alongside Member for Barwon, Roy Butler, the Premier met with council leaders, local organisations and community partners hearing directly about the impact of expanded cultural programs, handson learning opportunities, employment pathways and earlyintervention support.
Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager David Kirby said the visit was an important opportunity to showcase how targeted investment is transforming outcomes for young people in one of the most remote communities in the State. […]
