Pink Angels bring Christmas cheer and hands on help to cancer patients in Bourke

The Pink Angels breast cancer support group was in Bourke this week, bringing a very special Christmas delivery.

For 15 years the Pink Angels have been delivering food, financial assistance and practical support to people undergoing treatment for breast cancer. This year, some of the charity’s members decided it was time to bring Christmas presents in person.

The Pink Angels are based in Dubbo and last week visited Bourke and Cobar as part of their outreach to people in the far west, from Dubbo to Bourke, Walgett and many communities in between.

Spokesperson Sue Gavenlock said Pink Angels Inc was a registered local charity established in 2011 to support men and women undergoing breast cancer treatment.

“This year we wanted to visit the towns and personally deliver the hampers, and we want to continue that personal; approach in the coming months and years of outreach,” Sue said. […]
