Bourke Shire Council’s road crews have achieved some important milestones with major road improvements across the Shire.

Under the leadership of long-serving Roads Manager, Mark Gordon, the team has been busy with construction projects and upgrades in every direction around the shire.

Bourke Shire Council General Manager, Mark Riley, said council’s roads crews have had a very busy year.

“After a big year on the Bourke to Wanaaring Road there is only 36km remaining to be sealed, and crews have ceased work for now, awaiting further funding approval.

“The Romani to Wangamana section is now complete, so we’re almost there.

“The sealing of Coronga Peak Road at Byrock is progressing very well with 15 kilometres completed and another five kilometres expected to be laid before Christmas.
