Pat retires after44 years of service

The principal of Bourke’s Koinonia Christian Academy, Pat Amos is retiring after 44 years of teaching at the school, including 31 years as principal.
Mrs Amos was appointed as secondary teacher in 1980 when the school began operation, a role that has continued until today. She has also been the school’s Principal since mid-1993.
During this time, Pat has been involved in the education of hundreds of students that have passed through the Academy.
Mrs Amos said that she has been very dedicated to the task and has enjoyed her career in education which will finish at the end of this year.
‘Koinonia has been a great way to educate kids in a Christian environment,” she said.
Pat’s tenure as principal officially finished on the 21 October 2024, when Pat was replaced by Huw Norris.
Mr Norris hails from Melbourne where he was the Director of Students at the Kameruka Education Centre, working with children with ADHD.
He brings considerable experience and is dedicated to taking the Koinonia School successfully into the future.
