“This has been a dream of mine for a long time,” Amy Gordon, the owner and creator of Ngemba Beauty, said as she opened the doors to her shop, expelling sweet fragrances of native flowers and oils.

“I’ve tried to find skincare that works, and for me, I couldn’t, so I developed my own, and before I knew it, my company was born!”

Last Thursday, Amy Gordon achieved her dream of opening a beauty shop in her hometown of Brewarrina, located on the main street next to the Post Office.

Everything in the shop is 100% natural, made of native ingredients, and handmade by Amy; the products on offer include bath salts, bath bombs, beard oil, diffusers, candles, various soaps, skin care serums and clay masks, body butter, shower steamers, and a range of hair care products and natural deodorants will be on offer next month.

“In 2019, I started developing these products for myself, my family, and friends in my kitchen,” Amy said.

“I was spending a lot of money on products like candles, so I found that it was cheaper to make them myself, and then people started asking me about them and enquiring where I got them.

“One thing led to another, and I made products for numerous people, so I thought I could make this into a business.
