Bourke has a new Rural Financial Counsellor. Kasche DeGoldi took up the position this week and is already down to business.

From New Zealand’s South Island, Kasche follows in the footsteps of other local financial counsellors, supporting farmers during the tough decade of drought.

Seasons have improved, but Kasche said there was still a lot she could do to help farmers manage their businesses and their well-being.

“Bourke hasn’t had a permanent Rural Financial Counsellor for some time, so it’s a pleasure to be here offering counselling services to local farmers,” Kasche said.

“My role is to help farmers thrive, which then helps rural communities thrive. We work closely with primary producers experiencing, or at risk of, financial hardship, using our skills to help them understand their financial position so they can run successful and resilient businesses.
