New Maranguka CEO focusses on strengthening Bourke’s community voice

New Maranguka Community Hub CEO Kate Pargeter says strengthening the community voice and rebuilding relationships will be key priorities as she settles into the role in Bourke.
Ms Pargeter, a proud Wiradjuri and Ngiyampaa woman and former registered nurse with 18 years’ experience in health, stepped into the CEO position last October and has since been working closely with the Bourke Tribal Council and other local organisations.
“I’ve more recently been working with community, really enjoying my time out here at Bourke,” she said.
“I’m working really closely with Bourke Tribal Council to amplify the community needs.”
Ms Pargeter said the organisation is entering a new phase following a recent revitalisation.
