New after school care for Bourke families

Families in Bourke will benefit from a much-needed boost in childcare support, with Bourke and District Children’s Services (BDCS) preparing to open a brand-new after school care space next week.

“It’s about giving Bourke families access to a reliable after school care option that works for them,” BDCS General Manager, Prue Ritchie said.

An official opening with government representatives will be held later, recognising the funding support behind the project, but for now, the focus is firmly on the community and giving Bourke families access to a safe, welcoming, and much needed after school care option.

A community opening will be on Friday, 17 April from 2pm to 4pm, with staff on hand to meet families, answer questions, and guide visitors through the facility. Light refreshments will be provided, and children are encouraged to come along and explore the centre. […]
