Bourke is set to sparkle this festive season with a spectacular Christmas light show now running every night throughout December at 45 Mooculta Street — the home of Kelly and Chris Morrall.
Believed to be Bourke’s first fully animated, computer-controlled, and music-synchronised Christmas display, the show features an impressive 4,893 individual pixel lights.
Setting up the display was a major undertaking, taking over a week of long days to install, wire, program and fine-tune, but for Kelly and Chris, every hour was worth it to see the joy it brings to the community.
And exactly what is pixel lighting? In the field of Christmas decorations, It’s right at the cutting edge. Pixel lighting is a modern upgrade from traditional Christmas lights. Instead of simple on/off strands, each pixel light is individually addressable, meaning every single bulb can change to any colour, fade or strobe, move in waves or patterns, respond to beats and vocals in the music, and create smooth animations across the yard.
