Million dollar investment in Bourke’s aged care

A $1.2 million investment will soon flow into the Bourke community as part of a significant expansion of the Whiddon Aged Care Home, boosting residential capacity by 25 per cent and enhancing facilities for residents and staff.
Whiddon CEO Chris Mamarelis confirmed the long-awaited expansion is finally moving forward, following the successful receipt of funding through the Australian Government’s Aged Care Capital Assistance Program.
“We were beneficiaries of over $950,000 through that program, and that’s enabled us to really push forward with our expansion plans for our home in Bourke,” Mr Mamarelis said.
“The project in total will be over $1.2 million and basically allows us to grow the home. It’s an extra three rooms and three residents that we’ll be able to accommodate now.” […]
