The beach came to the outback last weekend as the annual Brewarrina RSL Bush Volleyball competition got underway on sand courts.
Taking part in the competition were imaginatively named teams including the RFC Bandits, Brewarriors, RB Setters, Goon Squad, Miralwyn Mangos and Alcoholics and Bailee who all took to the sandy Bre RSL car park from 11am on Sunday, vying for a big $2,000 cash prize.
Tim Slack-Smith, President of the Brewarrina RSL Club said the day had gone off without a hitch.
“It was a great day in great weather,” Mr Slack-Smith said. “It’s our fourth event in three years, and we had six teams nominate. While this number was down on previous events everyone had a great day.” […]
