Mark’s epic walk for youth mentaal health reaches Bourke

A remarkable journey across the Australian continent has brought Perth adventurer Mark Gresser to Bourke this week, as part of his 5,300-kilometre solo walk to raise awareness for youth mental health.

Mark is undertaking “Trek 4 Youth Mental Health” — a self-supported trek from Steep Point in Western Australia, the country’s westernmost point, to Cape Byron in New South Wales, the easternmost point, travelling via Uluru and Australia’s geographical centre.

Carrying all his own gear and without vehicle support, the journey is as physically demanding as it is meaningful.

Growing up in the Perth Hills and working professionally as a zoologist, Mark is no stranger to endurance challenges. He previously cycled nearly 30,000 kilometres through 28 countries. But this trek, he says, has pushed him further than anything before. […]
