Macbeth brings Shakespeare to life in Bourke

There was a tragedy in Bourke this week – of the theatrical kind.

One of Shakespeare’s most famous plays came to Bourke on Monday, with around 150 people turning out for a performance of Macbeth at the Bourke High School.

The production by theatre group, Come You Spirits, drew strong support from both students and the wider community, with 38 Bourke High School students choosing to attend in their own time.

Head of English David Luschwitz said feedback from students following the performance had been particularly encouraging.[…]
