Louth locals learn the “gift of grant seeking”

Last week’s grant writing workshop in Louth was welcomed by the community, with residents eager to gain the skills and knowledge needed to secure funding for community groups and local projects.

Local resident Emma Boede was among the 17 attendees at session coordinated by Rural Connect, which drew participants from Louth, Bourke and beyond.

Ms Boede said the event was a valuable opportunity for locals looking to make positive change in their communities.

“We learned that there’s a lot of money out there if you’ve got the gift of the gab for grants,” she said.

“It was a really informative session and the slideshow with the grant information and where to find them was really helpful.”

The workshop included a rundown of several types of available grants and practical advice on how to access them, how to prepare a strong application, and what to expect after submitting, whether successful or not. […]
