Held bi-annually on the June Long Weekend, alternating with Hungerford, the Louth Field Day is hosted by the Louth Chamber of Commerce– and the committee is calling for stall holders.

Elsie Eade Park, across from the famous Shindy’s Inn at Louth is the place to be on Saturday 8 June, when their field day kicks off at 10am.

Field Day organisers, Garry Mooring and Cherise Duncan, are currently out and about inviting involvement in the activities at this year’s event.

Interested individuals, groups or businesses are requested to please forward indications of interest to either Gary or Cherise as soon as possible, so that exhibitors can be included in the advertising for the day.

“We usually have all sorts of stalls,” Cherise said. “Arts and crafts, woodworking, business and community groups, cooking, hobbies, livestock displays, there is something to interest everyone.”

“Anyone wanting to have a stall just needs to give us a call. It’s $100 for stallholders, but if you have a cottage industry or hobby which doesn’t have an ABN then it’s free. Community groups are also welcome.”

General Manager of Bourke Shire Council, Leonie Brown, said the Louth Field Day always brought people from far and wide.

“It’s always a great day at Louth Field Days,” she said. “There’s something for everyone, it’s amazing the stalls they get there.”

At 4pm on the day, a Charity Auction will be held with part proceeds to help cover the insurance for the day and the remainder of proceeds being donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Every stall holder is asked to donate something for the auction. At the last Field Day, the auction proceeds were impressive.

“At the 2022 Field Day, we raised over $19,000,” Cherise said.

“We had some great items in the auction including a 6x4trailer with a load of wood, a Dohne Merino ram, Yeti products, fencing products, oils, shirts, craft packs, the well- sought-after gift pack with the yummy fruit cake we get every auction, plus loads more – the generosity of the exhibitors was amazing, some donating more than one item.”

Cherise said that this year’s auction was shaping up to be extremely enticing to bidders.

“We are getting things signed and sealed and delivered with some old favourites and some new auction items.
