Lochie settles in as Bourke Bowling Club manager

After a break of four years, Lachlan Ford has returned to his roots in the hospitality industry, taking over as Manager of the Bourke Bowling Club.

Previously, Mr Ford was working as a case worker with Juvenile Justice and wanted to see how he would enjoy doing something different.

“It was very different from running a business,” Mr Ford said.

He has been on deck at the “Bowlo”, as it is affectionately known by the locals since December.

Lochie, as he likes to be known, was the publican of the Port of Bourke Hotel for ten years.

Although the hours can be long, he is really enjoying the return to the hospitality industry.

“The board of directors is very supportive and is fully behind a move to make the club more family orientated.
