Bourke’s renowned historian Paul Roe has a deep love for the Outback, the people who accept the challenges it brings and the rich rewards that come with living in this iconic town on the banks of the Darling River. His most recent book about Bourke and the western plains has been reviewed by one of Australia’s most respected literary critics, Helen Coolican – and she has nothing but glowing praise for ‘Bourke and Beyond – Stories from the Western Plains’.

Paul will be in Bourke on Friday November 14 for a book signing at the Back O’Bourke Exhibition Centre as well as selling books at the Christmas market in the evening, and Helen’s review might convince you to include the book on your Christmas wish list. […]
