Lee to bring tunes to the Outback

Australian country music icon Lee Kernaghan is set to hit the road across outback Queensland, with a series of free concerts aimed at revitalising regional tourism and giving remote communities a well-earned lift.

Anne Leahy, Member for Warrego and Queensland’s Minister for Local Government and Water, said the concerts were more than just entertainment, they were a strategic push to bring visitors back into regions that have done it tough in recent years.

“This is the campaign to get people back out into Outback Queensland,” she said.

“We know that businesses, family and small businesses have really had a lot of time when they haven’t actually had that passer-by traffic that comes from tourism.” […]
