Kevin wins bronze at World Championships

PhotoS TWH“Our shooting glasses were constantly wet with rain, and I was wearing two thermal singlets, a shirt and raincoat during the shoot,” Kevin said. “If I’d worn any further clothing, I would have been so bulked up, I couldn’t have lifted my gun.”
“But on the positive side, it was good to win a medal from amongst all the other competitors – there were five to six hundred shooters in all grades, and we were well looked after by our hosts at the shoot, who were all very friendly.
“The English shooters came in first and the French won the silver – just a few shots in front of our Aussie team,” Kevin said. “The Pommies were used to the conditions, and we were not.”
Kevin is a product of the Bourke Clay Target shooting fraternity and is now a member of the Cobar Clay Target Club.
Only recently, Kevin competed at the Australian Championships at Wagga Wagga.
“I threw my hat in the ring, and headed down to Wagga and the rest is history,” Kevin said. “You have to shoot well for a week and just see what comes out the other end.”
