Kevin Hatch wins Single Barrel shoot at Cobar

Bourke’s Kevin Hatch had another big win on the weekend taking out the 30 Target Single Barrel Championship, with an overall score of 52/52 at the Annual Golden Clay Target Championship at Cobar.

Kevin was the last man standing in the single barrel event after 52 shots, and said he was pleased he improved on the second day as his performance was below par on the first day.

“The win was good follow-up to the bronze medal performance in the world championships in July,” Kevin said.

Kevin said that the competition in Cobar is every bit as strong as at the world championships –

“Australia has some great shooters, and they all come to Cobar – if you can win at Cobar, you can win anywhere,” he said.

Sydney shooter Jason Griffin won the coveted Overall Highgun Golden Clay Championship.

The 47th annual event attracted a great crowd, and everyone wanted a chance to win the Golden Clay, on a weekend with beautiful weather.

On Friday night the NSW State Night Points Score Championship, 50 Target event, sponsored by the Kevin Hatch Engineering was contested in excellent conditions and a record 117 shooters came out with some local shooters successful in their grades. […]
