The first week of Bourke’s revived League Tag competition saw an impressive crowd at Davidson Oval last Tuesday night, with close to 80 juniors and adults turning up for an evening of sport and connection.

Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Heath Service CEO Jay Forrester said the strong turnout showed how ready the community was for another inclusive activity.

“After we ran the basketball comp, people were really keen to keep something going,” he said. “So, we pulled an organising group together and it just happened really naturally.”

Mr Forrester said the competition is designed to be welcoming rather than rigid, encouraging people to participate regardless of skill or experience. […]
