Henry’s Holden HR a huge hit at Bourke Show

Nyngan farmer Henry Parry took out the three big awards at the Bourke Historic Vehicle Club’s Show ‘n’ Shine at the Bourke Show on Saturday.

Henry bought along his beautifully restored red 1967 Holden HR and took out the prizes for ‘Best Historic Vehicle’, ‘Overall Vehicle of the Day’ and ‘the People’s Choice Award’ – ahead of the other 27 historic vehicles entered on the day.

Mr Parry, a cotton grower from the Nyngan district, said he has a passion for restoring vintage Australian cars and had ‘about 20’ vintage vehicles in his collection.

“This HR isn’t the best of my vehicles, but it is still a well-presented vehicle good enough to win a competition”.

In other categories, Best Historic Paintwork was won by Joe Stephens for his 1964 Ford XM, Best Historic Motorcycle was won by Peter Attwater for his 1972 Honda K2, and Roughest Vehicle was won by Luka Vasdic for his 1984 Toyota HJ47. […]
