Harry’s charity trek to end in Lightning Ridge

After undergoing major craniofacial surgery earlier this year to remove a brain tumour, SA man Harry Vidal is taking on a deeply personal mission, one that stretches 1,100km across some of the most remote parts of the state and ends in Lightning Ridge.

‘Harry’s Outback Trek for Craniofacial Australia’ set off from Balranald on 1 June and is making its way north by horse-drawn red wagon, led by his two Clydesdales, Henry, and George.

It’s slow going with Harry and his horses only covering 20km a day; their destination is Lightning Ridge, where Harry hopes to finish by late August.

This is Mr Harry’s tenth long-distance trek and his third raising funds for Craniofacial Australia, a cause that became even more meaningful this year. […]
