Grawin Opal Fields embrace health and wellbeing
On June 9, the Grawin Opal Fields witnessed a remarkable event aimed at promoting health and wellbeing, supported by several respected organisations, including GROW (Guiding Rural & Outback Wellbeing), the Royal Flying Doctors Wellbeing Place, Walgett Shire Council, the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, and the Local Drug Action Team.
This interactive community health and wellbeing day saw various health providers come together, encompassing a wide range of services from indigenous health and women’s health to liver testing, including cutting-edge treatments for Hepatitis C and even spiritual well-being.
The event proved a resounding success, with a comprehensive representation of health services ensuring that every aspect of well-being was addressed.
Attendees were treated to delicious breakfast and lunch options while enjoying the fun-filled entertainment the talented Ducky Dennis provided.
The day was marked by completing over 20 liver scans and multiple women’s health checks, reflecting the event’s commitment to prioritizing education across all health domains.
Participants also engaged in fun activities such as basket weaving and creating unique earrings.
