Golden Strikers strike gold and $2,000 at Bre RSL

Brewarrina was the place to be on Saturday with the sun, sand, and plenty of fun when the Brewarrina RSL hosted its very first Bush Volleyball competition.

Twelve teams entered with the majority coming from Brewarrina, but Bourke and Goodooga also entered teams.

The day started at 10am with two games going at the same time. It was a knockout style competition with the finals being played by the ‘Golden Strikers’ and the “Little Sooks’.

It was a close game with the ‘Golden Strikers’ taking the win and being presented with a medal and $2000 in prize money.

General Manager of the RSL, Stephen Harding was the man behind the competition which he said he hoped would give locals some weekend fun and a chance to show their considerable volleyball skills. […]
